I don’t know about you, but I just love shows like HGTV. Cory and I love to watch International House Hunter’s, secretly hoping one day that will be us shopping for our new home in another country. Anyways, as you may remember at the end of June last year we bought our first house! Thankfully everything was move in ready. However, the previous owner’s choice in paint colors, light fixtures, and a few other things were nice, just not our taste. So along the way, we have been making changes and turning this house more into a home.
We had all of the common areas of the house professionally painted. (which we highly recommend) We have finished buying about 90% of the furniture for the house, now it’s more decorative stuff and anything we want to redo to make this place our own. One thing Cory and I had the itch to remodel was some of our bathrooms. We have 3 full baths and one half bath, which coming from a 1 bedroom, 1 bath apartment to a 3 bed, 4 bath home was definitely a change. We wanted to take on the smallest bathroom to see how we could handle it.
At first we were just going to repaint the half bath, which was a very bright red. We actually called it our Dexter room when showing guests our house. We are not red people and we knew from the beginning we wanted to have a calm and relaxing home. Think spa, clean, and modern/traditional. So we had our house painted gray (we will show photos later) and repainted our half bath Benjamin Moore Healing Aloe. However, mid picking paint colors, we got the wild hair to just go ahead and replace the light fixture, sink basin, and faucet.
Here are some photos of the transformation. Thankful my husband is now part electrician and plumber!
I just love this Delta faucet. It’s like a mini waterfall.
Here is a comparison of the before and after.
We can’t wait to share the rest of the changes and decorating as we go along! Bob Villa will have nothing on us! 😉
Great transformation! I love the new color!
WOW! What a difference! Looks so clean and refreshing! Love it 🙂
Love this!! Seeing this gives me the itch to paint our bathrooms!
